2000-present, Law Firm in Oklahoma, managing member, full-service law firm with a general trial practice emphasis, representing clients in all areas of commercial and civil litigation. Licensed in all state and federal courts in Oklahoma, with a total staff of 25 attorneys and support staff.
1992-present, Law firm in Minnesota, Managing member
1997-present, hotel and real estate development firm in Oklahoma, Managing member, Chief Executive Officer and 50% shareholder of a hotel / real estate development and management firm with up to 600 employees, annual revenues in excess of $50,000,000 and offices/properties in 18 states. This is operated with a sister company with similar revenues in addition to these. This firm has had two primary areas of emphasis, commercial hotel management and resort vacation rental management. As recently as 1997, an arm of HG CORP, Reservations International, was the country’s largest manager of resort condominium and private homes for rent.
1988-1994, Property company, Arkansas, Chief Executive Officer and 100% shareholder of a hotel/real estate management firm doing both owned property management and third party management. While developing and owning such hotel properties as the National Park Hilton Hotel and the Jonesboro Ramada Inn, did significant work for banks on taking over foreclosed properties and preparing them for liquidation. Major clients included Worthen National Bank, Chrysler First Business Credit Corporation, and others. While staffing varied widely, it frequently was more than 1500 employees. In one year, more than 5000 individual employees were managed. As well, Center Properties, Inc. owned travel agencies, florists, maintenance companies, car rental agencies and more.
1985-1989, Management company and resort development corporation, Arkansas, Vice-president/General Manager. Chief Operating Officer for a real estate development company with more than 500 full-time employees and operations, including hotels, retirement communities, real estate companies, commercial shopping centers and other investments. While there, developed a 20,000 square foot health club which grew to more than 4500 local members. Managed a timeshare receivables portfolio with more than $30 million in assets.
1983-1985, Ing And Ing, Inc, Oklahoma, Controller/General Manager. Chief financial officer recruited to work out this financially troubled organization. Primarily a restaurant operating company; opened very visible restaurants in central Oklahoma, including The Sand Plum (Guthrie) and Calla, a restaurant (Oklahoma City). Managed and attempted to purchase Shangri-La Resort, site of the 1982 National Governor’s Conference, a resort with annual revenues of about $20,000,000. Catered annually the Oklahoma Statehood Ball. Sponsored a concert series involving some entertainers as Henry Mancini, Victor Borge, Peter Nero, and others. While here, imported for direct use some international products includes wines from southern France, sparkling cider from Normandy, France and bottled water from Austria.
