One-on-one private wellness consultations focused on drug/herb interactions, side effects, product quality Subject matter expert for attorneys regarding pharmaceuticals and herbal products. Appeared on radio shows, participated in newspaper interviews, involved in multiple public presentations on the safe use of dietary supplements for consumers and healthcare professionals.

9/27/01 – present Clinical Effectiveness and Safety Officer Pharmacy Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, Responsible for directly overseeing the clinical functions and patient safety aspects of the Pharmacy Department. Examples include the development, implementation, and provision of progressive patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services and safe medication use initiatives associated with Tri-Health pharmacy practice. Latter initiatives include, but are not limited to, clinical and cost analyses of DRGs (disease state management), physician prescribing patterns, medication errors (co-chair, Tri-Health Medication Error Reduction Task Force), adverse drug events, clinical pharmacy interventions, antibiotic usage and associated laboratory monitoring, cardiac medication usage, and anticoagulation usage. Active participation in clinical research involving prescription medications, dietary supplements, and other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities as principal investigator, IRB protocol reviewer, pharmacy adjunct in research protocol design for Tri-Health physician residents and pharmacy students, and pharmacy medication logistics/dispensing coordinator.

9/05/00 – 6/01 Administrative Director Integrative Health and Medicine Center, Cincinnati, Ohio Direct reporting responsibility to Tri-Health COO. Position entailed strategic program development; marketing, budgetary and operational management of multiple holistic practitioners including physician acupuncturists; and performing personalized drug/herbal patient consultations. Annual budget of $200,000 including grant funds, with 40 direct reports, including contractors. Developed physician residency program, student nursing program, PharmD preceptorship Principal Investigator in Alternative Medicine Prevalence of Usage Study. Developed Outpatient Pharmacy Managed Anticoagulation Service.

12/02/96 – 9/27/01 Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, Tri-Health Cincinnati, Ohio Responsibilities include development of clinical strategic direction for Department of Pharmacy, incorporating cost effective programs. As a member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Infection Control Committees, performs formulary reviews, drug utilization evaluations (DUEs), reviews of medication errors and adverse drug events in fulfillment of JCAHO requirements. Position also entails Critical Care rounds, rounds with Family Practice residents, Infectious Disease specialists; and staff development of 19 pharmacists and multiple residents. Designed and implemented DRG cost analysis project with Clinical Quality Assurance colleagues. Member of multidisciplinary clinical path development teams to provide drug information and serve as a consensus builder, Member of the Tri-Health Investigational Review Board. Developed Pharmacy-Managed Anticoagulation Program for total joint arthroplasty patients complete with quarterly QA of service and patient outcomes. 8/2/93 - 11/14/96 Drug Information Specialist/Scientist The Procter & Gamble Company Regulatory and Clinical Development Oral Care & OTC Medicines (Medical Affairs) Mason, Ohio, Position entailed championing Medical Communications Program and computer tracking system for Oral Care & OTC Medicines across all brands. Led Medical Communications Improvement Team peer review meetings with Current Business Drug Information Specialists and cross-functional/sector/global colleagues. Executed Medical Communications Program for Joint Venture (Syntex®Roche) launch of Rx-to-OTC switch co-marketed products including the development of Standard Operating Procedures and the proactive development of Q&As/letters with bibliographies for consumers/health care professionals. Current Business responsibilities included management of consumer/health care professional drug/medical information inquiries, computerized monitoring of inquiries, review of medical records and narrative writing for FDA periodic adverse event reports, safety assessments of spontaneous post-marketing adverse event database and published primary literature; reviewing advertising and sales training materials, providing product clearances, designing consumer educational brochure and professional educational materials.
